Before I get into faves, I have a little favor/question for you. I recently purchased some frames at a yard sale. When I took them apart to make chalkboards I discovered (behind the ugly print in the glass) a photograph.... it is a class of people and it reads "Lancaster Class of '97". Clearly, it is from 1897, made obvious by the attire. I have googled and I cannot find any information about it.... does anyone out there have any ideas? It's so neat, but I want to make sure i properly research before I do anything with it.
And now, onto faves!
Quite possibly this is my favorite pallet project ever! I love this cart from Serendipity Refined, and it is so perfect for the season!

Weathered Piecesshared how she created three different pieces from just one dresser! My favorite is this console/dresser.
Blue Star Antiques shared this beautiful combination of black and white stripes and aqua! Perfection!
There were two incredible projects linked up back to back using Annie Sloan Florence....
This dresser from Carter's Cottage...
And this one from Shabby Sweet Tea....
My Passion for Decor shared this stunning desk.... Oh how I love the beautiful top!

How awesome is this chair from Number Fifty-three? I am in love with the fabric!
That's it folks! Have a happy weekend, and enjoy this gorgeous first day of Autumn!

Autumn starts today? So funny, Spring started here on September 1st so I thought that meant that was when autumn started for you but it seems not so. I learnt something today then! I thought Americans called autumn 'fall' but you have called it it's proper name too ;)
Our seasons start on the 1st of the month so Spring is Sept-Oct-Nov, Summer Dec-Jan-Feb, Autumn Mar-Apr-May and winter Jun-Jul-Aug. One day I would love to experience what it is like having Christmas in winter instead of the middle of summer...just once though, as I LOVE summer!

great pics this week! that cart is amazing. I wish I could help with the pic, but I have no idea!
Cool find. I'm thinking that it may be Lancaster, PA...a high school there? Or maybe a college that changed names since 1897. Speaking as an editor of an alumni magazine, it would be a great find and the college or high school historian would love to have it on file, but not sure where you could find that info. if not on the Internet.
They are all gorgeous, but I l.o.v.e that round striped table from Blue Star Antiques! The combination is awesome! Have fun at the barn today - hope you sell a ton!!!
That desk might be the prettiest thing I've seen in bloglandia in quite some time. What a top!!
Gorgeous features, Cassie! Headed over to pin that fab desk -- hope you have a great productive weekend!!

All beautiful, but I'd be partial to the pallet cart and the white desk.

I have no idea, but when we bought a house once, there were all sorts of old pictures and I had no one to give them too. I held on to them for years and years.
Gorge features! Love My Passion for Decor. That girl is talented :)))
Pretty faves this week, as always! & cool photo find. That is awesome!! Hopefully you get some good info on it. xo
As a historian of local history, I am always thrilled to find old photographs of buildings and people, even if there is no specific information regarding the document. What I suggest is that you contact local historic societies that keep an archive and see if they might not want it for their files. The library may have a local history collection, but the
Ibrary at a college or university might have a special collection archive. However, if this photograph does not fit in to any of their current collections, they may not take it. Honestly, if it were me, I would get an archival-quality mat and glass and hang it in my house!
Every single project is amazing. What a great cache of inspiration! I wish I could help you out with the frame mystery, and I'm hoping someone out there can. Would love to learn more, too!
Perhaps take the photo back to the home the yard sale was at and ask them if they'd like it back? After all, they may not have realized it was in there and it may be a special family memento.
There may be a Lancaster NY? I am in Ohio, and there is a large town here with the same name that was in existence then, so perhaps much of the East coast did? Maybe if you post it we could all look it up for you to see if it is "our" Lancaster!
Thanks so much for the feature, Cassie! I hope you had a great day at the barn!
