I am looking forward to checking out all your projects this week! I have two simple little pieces to share with you today. I bought this nightstand as part of my 35 dollar haul a few weeks ago. And I painted them along side the coffee table which I kept out of that haul.

See the vanity stool on the left and the waterfall nightstand in the middle? They both got the same treatment.
I sanded them down and painted it with two coats of General Finishes Milk Paint which I purchased at the Stylish Patina barn where I am a vendor. Once dry, I finished them with a wipe on poly. On the nightstand, I added a more dramatic lion head pull I had on hand. Here are the end results!
Sometimes a simple black or white paint is all it takes to make a piece new again!
Now it's your turn to show off your latest and greatest furniture builds or makeovers!

Cassie that black? is so silky smooth, it must be the milk paint. I'm working on a black makeover but I don't think they'll come out looking that awesome. Love the new finish, really professional job.
Cassie I love the black, the lion head knob really pops against it. Nice job. As always, thanks for hosting. Dee from My Painted Stuff.
I'm first!! Can't believe it!
I love that lion head night stand, the colour and finish are beautiful!
Gorgeous Cassie! I think waterfall-style pieces can be hard to makeover and you did a phenomenal job on this one. Did you use a bonding agent with the milk paint? I love the finish on both pieces. I'm getting ready to start a desk that will be done in black and your post makes me want to do it in milk paint!
I'm in love with the lion head pull! Looks great with the nightstand.
That was some great vision with the nightstand. I'm not sure I'd have seen the potential in the original piece. The lion's head pull is a.maz.ing.
We all seem to go in waves don't we? I've got a piece lined up for some black-ish paint too, I'm loving it at the moment and yours is gorgeous!! LOVE the lion ;)
The finish on these pieces looks flawless! So pretty and classic in black! And I love the updated photo with the munchkins! You guys are too cute!
Black and gold always equals goodness in my book. How the sale go this weekend?
I love the simplicity of the black...such a classic, stunning look!

I always return to black, especially a soft muted tone. Your nightstand and little stool look so elegant!
Fall is my favorite time for family activities. So many things to do that my kids at different ages all enjoy. Like.....Giants winning the pennant! Sorry, had to say it. Go Giant's!
I love black with gold hardware!

Love General Finshes! It was my first exposure to milk paint. Our island stools are painted in that same black, and I adore it. Love the lion head pull you added!!!
