Duck Egg Dining Chairs Create Dilemma in the Dining Room (and cute baby sheep!!!)

Happy Thursday!  Hope you all have had a great week so far!  I survived my first R.I.P.P.E.D. class at the gym and really enjoyed it, as much as one can enjoy exercise I suppose.  I could have done with less push-ups though. :)  After class I spent the afternoon working on the chairs I am about to share.  And finally, when the kids got off the bus we visited some friends who recently welcomed a bunch of new babies into their family....

Aren't they all the sweetest?  My kids were in heaven petting these little guys!  And their little "baaaas" are the cutest!  Anyhow, I just had to share these pictures because you can't look at a lamb and not melt just a little.

Yesterday I shared a cool Duck Egg console piece with you and also told you that I was working on some dining chairs in the same color.
Here is what the looked like when I purchased them,,,
I gave them two coats of Duck Egg chalk paint, used my wet rag distressing method, and finished them with a clear wax.  I recovered the seats in burlap.  And here is what they look like now...

Now.... I am going to be honest.  I painted them this color because I thought I may want to keep them to bring some more aqua into the dining room.  Also, I liked their scale better than my current chairs.  (My current chairs were given to me by a friend and were meant to be used until I found "The chairs".  I had to replace the modern chairs I had that Chris couldn't stand.)  As a reminder, here is what the chairs look like in my dining room....

Now, I switched them out for the photo shoot and I think I am going to keep these new ones.... what say you?

I love how they tie in the aqua from the front door, now that it was recently painted.

These also have higher backs and I think the scale better suits our table.

So, what do you think?  Which chairs would you keep??? Would you forget about the chairs, and just go snuggle a lamb?
Hi, I am an adorable lamb and I love you.

The chairs look great. I can't believe your ninja speed!

Ahh... lambs. We saw some a while back, and I love how they jump, twist, and shimmy-shake all in one motion. They are sweet.

And I love the bench!

Baaaaa ba, keep the chairs!!

The scale is definitely better and you can never go wrong with aqua.

I think you should keep them too! Love the color and you're right, the scale fits your table a little better. I like the subtle punch of color they bring to the room. Great find!

I say - the aqua chairs work better in your space and the chairs in there now won't be hard to get rid of either! :)

I love the duck egg chairs! They go beautifully with your dark stained table.

I think they are keepers! The scale of the chair is much better because of the higher back and since your dining room is open to the front door it ties in so nicely w/ the colors. I love that shade of blue/aqua!

Ahhh, lambs. I love lambs. They are second after puppies on my list of favorite babies. We had a bunch of them that lived in the pasture behind our first house. I miss them.

Keep the chairs. They are perfect!!

I don't know! At first I was thinking, nope I like the white ones, then I decided I liked the duck eggs, and now I don't know so I'm just gonna go give a lamb a snuggie.

By the way - I keep meaning to tell you how much I like your new random posts. The linky party was good in the past, but I am really digging just a bunch of life stuff thrown into posts.

LOVE the new chairs! I have a certain fondness for anything painted Duck Egg. And, then with the added burlap, that pushes them over the top perfect! I also love your painted door. You are giving me ideas. . . Life to the full, Melissa @ DaisyMaeBelle

I love the new chairs--we had Queen Anne and I wanted to paint them but I was overridden and ended up giving the whole suite to charity. It just wasn't "me."

Jenn said...

I so love both. I'm obsessed with the keyhole cutouts of those white chairs, but I love the blue. Either way, it's a win. You can ship your white chairs over to my house ;) Beautiful as always!

Keep the Duck egg blue chairs for all the above reasons. I think we would all say, "Keep Calm and Snuggle a Lamb"!

The height is much better -- keep the chairs. And I think you should bring a baby lamb home with you--too cute! Once he grows into a sheep he'll batch your wall decor, and no more lawn mowing! :-)

Dying to know- I"m from Texas but am SO a city girl!!

Hi there,
Yep, you've got my vote for the Duck Egg chairs.
I also like that you used milk glass bud vases as taper holders. Very cool and imaginative.
Baby lambs so cute! My aunt and uncle used to raise sheep. When twins are born the mother will usually shun one and if you want it to live you have to bottle feed the little gaffer. We have pictures of my brother and me feeding the lambs. He and I are on our backs, holding the baby bottle and the lamb is standing on our tummies. The lambs are so rambunctious and they wiggle all around with their little stub tails whirring a mile a minute. They would knock us down and still go for the bottle. 'Course we would be laughing and couldn't get up off the ground. Oh, the ol' days!

hhmmmm...You really have me thinking over here....

First though-- my heart is for animals! hahaha...That sweet little sheep is the CUTEST.

Okay...now on to chairs---I kept thinking I wanted something a little more industrial--I love the industrial look...but I love these with the burlap and how it looks with the wood table...Hmmmmm. May *need* to go thrifting!

I vote for keeping the chairs, and get one of those lambs while you are at it. O.K., you must be pretty tough if you did the Ripped Class, then came home and painted! I think I would have come home and found an excuse to sit at the computer and not move!
